PREMISE

Ok, let me start out by saying that I firmly believe in "What goes around comes around" and "Givers Gain". What we put out in the world is what will come back to us. I also believe in being responsible with what you have. I've been doing the "GREEN Thing" long before Al Gore made his "green debut". Anyway, if you are expecting good things to come your way, you'd better be putting good things forth into the world! Here I want to chronicle those "good things" and the various ideas I have regarding being frugal, responsible and charitable.

"Hidden" Glade Candle Gift Card Deal

Some bloggers are reporting that this Target Gift Card deal on the Glade Candles isn't being publicized - however, my Target Super Store was all over it. Consequently, someone had gone through all the "tins" and removed the $1.50 coupons already.

It's still a GREAT deal and I will be using my candle purchases for stocking stuffers and around the house over the holidays. I made money on this deal and got the free music downloads!

Now through 12/26/09, receive a $5 Target Gift Card when you buy 5 Glade Holiday Scented Candle Tins, Glass Holders or Refills at $2.50/ea. This deal includes Bayberry, Gingerbread, Apple Cinnamon, Peppermint, Holly, and Vanilla scented products.

It seems that most people are finding them on the endcaps of aisles, since it's a Holiday promotion.

Coupons available for this deal:
$1.50/1 coupon found inside the candle tins
Buy a holder, get a free refill Blinkie coupon (found at various grocery stores - Publix, KMart, etc. )

Buy a holder, get a free refill
printable coupon (Limit 2 per computer)
Buy a holder, get a free refill printable coupon (Limit 2 per computer)
***If you want the printable coupon, I would print them
now. Once it takes off, the # of prints will be overwhelming and they will run out!

Best deal scenarios (pick the best fit for what coupons you have/can find):

#1:
Buy 5 tins.
Buy 5 refills.
Use 5 coupons found inside tins.
Use 5 blinkies and/or printables.
Pay $5 out of pocket, and receive a $10 giftcard!
***Moneymaker of $5!!!

#2:
Buy 3 tins.
Buy 2 refills.
Use 3 coupons found inside tins.
Use 2 blinkies and/or printables.
Pay $3 out of pocket, and receive a $5 giftcard!
***Moneymaker of $2!!! This will probably be the best deal for most, if you have trouble finding the blinkies and only have one computer to print 2 of the bogo free coupons.

#3:
Buy 5 tins.
Use 5 coupons found inside tins.
Pay $5 out of pocket, and receive a $5 giftcard!
***Free after giftcard!!! This is the best deal if you don't have the blinkie/printable coupon.

Now, a couple of hints:

*For every 5 products you buy, you should receive a separate $5 giftcard. So, for example: If you buy 15 products in one transaction, you should receive 3 giftcards. If you buy 10 products, you should receive 2 giftcards.

*You can roll any of these deals. You can not use the giftcards that you receive within the same transaction, but you can use it on the next transaction. So, you could roll the scenarios as many times as you like, and keep receiving giftcards to use on the next transaction. You'll only pay out of pocket the first transaction, and the rest will be free, and then at the end you'll walk out with your giftcards from the final transaction!

*This is awesome for the SC Johnson rebate!!! You get $5 back for every 3 SC Johnson products that you buy in one transaction. You can submit for the rebate up to 3 times per household, but you will need a separate receipt for every submission.

*You can also get a free mp3 Holiday music download for every Holiday glade product that you buy. Check it out here. NOTE: the song download selection is different for each scent. Not all Holiday Collection Scents are eligible for downloads.

USE THE FREE MUSIC DOWNLOADS AND BURN TO CD AND BRIGHTEN SOMEONE'S DAY WITH SOME GREAT HOLIDAY MUSIC!

SEARCH AND DESTROY MISSION - 7/12/09

Another fun filled day of shopping and saving! Woohoo! Love It!

First stop, Cost Plus World Market - returned purchase from Saturday - didn't work and checked on the supply for reuseable bags. All out. Another shipment will be in next Saturday! Doors open @ 9:00a.m. - these are nice quality heavy duty reusable shopping bags.

Next stop - Target!
I picked up my 2nd Rx - $3.20 - will turn in to FSA - ZERO cost! This will be transferred to RiteAid for $25.00!
We made the perimeter rounds going through all kinds of sale merchandise. I picked up a new dog leash for $1.00 (XOE chewed through her other on Sat.) along with some scrap booking stickers (all under $1.00, a little 'rock and roll' cami for my friend's granddaughter for $1.00!! A butane candle lighter 1/2 off and supplies from the beauty section that were on sale. I picked up some computer ink and got a $10 gift card which in turn purchased 10 more Sobe Lifewater's which were on sale for 10/$10 (FREE) and I got another $5.00 g.c. for that purchase. I then paid for all my other items (stickers, lighter, bread, misc.) and used my g.c.'s to drop my out of pocket.

By the way - trivia: The new Sobe Lifewater uses Pure Via as their 'zero' calorie sweetener! Yeah! This is a 100% natural sweetener and I found a link for a FREE sample of it HERE (while supplies last!)

Next stop - P.F. Chang's for lunch! We got there and got a up front and personal parking place (love it when that happens) and waited just a few minutes to be seated. We (my girlfriend and I) ordered two appetizers - the lettuce wraps, our favorite...plus we wanted to try the crunchy green beans! Oh, yummmmy! We had the egg drop soup and then came the lunch bowls - couldn't eat all mine so - take home! (Dinner is served). My girlfriend had two coupons for free lunch bowls and a free appetizer sooooo...we both ate at P.F. Chang's for $6.00 each! (including the tip!) Can't beat that!! Yeah, baby!

After lunch we went over to Vera Bradley to pick up a deal they had on their lunch bags - $10.00 off! They had them in both our patterns! Gotta love it!

We stopped at a salon that carried AVEDA and picked up some travel samples (had a coupon) and then moved on to the next stop.

Next stop - Another Cost Plus World Market (different part of town) checking for the reusable bags - all gone. Went on next door to Ross where I picked up thee cutestttt broom. My ratty ol' straw one was just "done" and this cute cheetah and rose printed handle one was perfect! Gee, maybe it'll make me wanna sweep more, now! Har! I also picked up a cute little dress for XOE - cheap, cheap! Checked out for under $10.00 (no bag of course).

Drove down the street to Kohl's. We had $10 coupons off $10 purchase. Got in there and there was 80% and 90% off signs EVERYWHERE! Need I say more! I picked up 7 tops for Nicole (hoodies and tees) for under $40.00. The receipt at the bottom said "your savings - $147.01" !!! Score!! My girlfriend found a $40.00 Schwarski crystal bracelet on sale and with coupon she paid $3.69!! Right on!!

After Kohl's we were done! I then later went to the grocery store for a few items and to Subway where I picked up two $5.00 footlong subs for $3.00 each (had gift cards) That was dinner for hubby last night and dinner and lunch today for me! Can't beat that with a stick, eh?

All in all I thought it was a VERY successful shopping day!

I picked up 2 additional Olay products (I use this stuff faithfully) which qualified for a $20.00 rebate. (I had already purchased 2 qualifying products earlier in the month at 1/2 price w/coupons from Walgreen's...it pays to shop the sale bins)

I had a coupon for one of the products and there was an on the box coupon on the other. I wasn't sure I was going to qualify for the 2nd coupon, but the computer allowed it - woohoo! An additional $3.00 off! Sweet!

Total bill w/tax was $29.43
I used the balance of g.c. - which brought the balance down to $19.84.
Less rebate on these products - brings total to ZERO!
(Have I already told you, "Zero is my hero"? hehehehe)

And there, my friends, you have it...my shopping for today! Most of these items were regular consumables that we use. A little somethin' for my puppy...and a little yummy for my tummy from 7-11. Not bad!

EVENING UPDATE: Went back to Target - picked up 10 Sobe LifeWater's for $10 - had 5 coupons for B1G1 - they gave me a $5.00 g.c. and I walked out of there with 10 bottles for FREE.
